Liechtenstein Group Increases Focus on Agriculture and Forestry, and Ensures Continuity in Management and Supervisory Board
The Liechtenstein Group will increasingly focus on sustainable and profitable growth in the sectors of Agriculture & Food, as well as Forestry. The overarching goal is to be a leader in these core sectors: With flagship operations – particularly in rice seed production and reforestation/forest seedlings production – the aim is to continue combining tradition and sustainability with innovation.
In the Agriculture & Food sector, the U.S. rice seed company RiceTec is on a successful growth path, while the LIECO Group remains a leader in Forestry. The real estate portfolio in Vienna and the leasing of the Viennese palaces for events will continue to be a central part of the company’s portfolio. In the field of Renewable Energy, the future focus will be on developing and operating facilities (photovoltaic, wind, water, storage) on the Group's own properties.
Following the departure of CEO Johannes Meran, Stephan Langer, formerly Investment Director, has been appointed to the Executive Board. Together with CFO Johanna Baumgartinger, he will lead the Liechtenstein Group AG, with a particular focus on operations in Austria and Germany. Jorge Fernández Vidal is part of the new management team and, as Managing Director, is responsible for the Agriculture & Food sector, particularly RiceTec, as well as investments in the AgTech sector, such as PowerPollen, NTG/Green Universe Agriculture, N-Drip, and international agricultural enterprises like Valle del Guadiana and Parelmo. There will be no changes in the leadership of these operations and investments.
