New London Office

Ex-British International Investment CIO Tony Morgan becomes new Chief Investment Officer of Liechtenstein Group

The Liechtenstein Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Morgan as Chief Investment Officer (CIO). This appointment also coincides with the opening of a new Liechtenstein Group office in London. Tony was previously CIO of British International Investment (BII), the UK's impact investment platform, and brings many years of international experience in the investment industry.

Tony initially joined BII as Head of the Direct Equity team in September 2019 and was subsequently promoted to CIO. During his tenure at BII, Tony was instrumental in driving the strategic direction and success of the company's investment programs.

Prior to joining BII, Tony was a Managing Director of Onex Corporation, where he successfully set up their European private equity operations. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director in the Principal Investing Group of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) in Toronto and sat on the Private Investments Investment Committee. Tony began his private equity career in 2001 as an Investment Manager with Permira in London. He holds a Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

“Tony's extensive experience in strategic leadership and impact investing makes him the ideal candidate for the position of Chief Investment Officer at the Liechtenstein Group,” said Johannes Meran, CEO of the Liechtenstein Group. “With his deep understanding of international private equity markets and the importance of responsible investing, he will contribute significantly to our continued growth and success. The opening of our office in London, which Tony will start building immediately with his UK team, will also contribute to this.”

“I am very much looking forward to becoming part of the Liechtenstein Group and working with Johannes and the team to further drive the growth of the Group and the development of its corporate portfolio,” said Tony Morgan about his new role.
